This 2014 Mazda 3 Sport came into our Kearny Mesa shop with a large dent in the left fender. Here's what we did to put it right.
The repair
- Replaced the left fender. The fender had a large dent, so we replaced it.
- Blended the hood. Blending means we fade the new color out into the panel next to the new fender so the change happens gradually and your eye can't find a line. That's why the hood got paint even though it wasn't damaged.
- Repaired the edge of the left front door. We repaired the front edge of the door next to the fender.
- Three-stage candy apple red refinish. The car's candy apple red is a three-stage paint, and we refinished it to match.
